Benefits of the Architecture
Benefits of Celerant Command Retail Architecture
Retail companies that use our technology benefit from
real-time data across their enterprise. Architecturally, the entire organization
accesses the same database. Retailers receive unparalleled knowledge of store
sales and inventory status.
Being implemented across a wide-range of platforms, including Linux, Unix and
Windows, enables our POS software to fit within various corporate environments,
or even leverage a company's existing IT infrastructure.
Utilizing a variety of communication and hardware options, multi-location retailers
can easily process high-volume transactions against a central online database
both immediately and securely - finally eliminating the need to poll data.
Celerant Command Retail is SOA compatible, and has a service oriented architecture,
providing retailers with a flexible, scalable system which can expand and change,
along with your growing retail needs. The integrated framework enables communication
between all services and programs.
Command Retail is designed for unequalled performance and can handle very high
volume transaction processing. Built-in caching and thread pooling, combined
with an integrated load-balancing system, allow EAS to satisfy the most demanding
retail enterprise.
Customizable Retail Management System
Custom functionality that a particular retailer may require
can be added easily in Celerant Command Retail, and in many cases, without even
taking a production system offline during the addition.
This open approach to design, inherent in our system, allows Celerant to integrate
closely with both traditional legacy systems and ERP vendors. In addition, we
also offer development licenses for those organizations that maintain a software
development staff, thus allowing those companies to extend system functionality
for their own purposes.
Live Data Access
A key advantage of Celerant's advanced retail management
system is the use of a distributed transaction processing architecture. This
means that Java-based application servers control the flow of information throughout
the enterprise - live at the moment each transaction takes place.
Designed and written by Celerant, the application servers route the activity
that's taking place in each location to the central data repository, immediately.
This eliminates the need for an error-prone daily synchronization. Every location
in the organization now has access to the same set of data - data which is always
accurate and up-to-date.
Scalable and Reliable
Celerant Command Retail POS, point of sale, software flexible
and reliable point of sale system. Application servers may be configured in
a nearly infinite number of ways. Depending upon the estimated transaction throughput
of a retailer, application servers can be strategically located at various points
throughout the company to route activity. Multiple application servers can be
used to form a fail-safe array of processing centers, shielding companies from
an occasional, unexpected loss of telecommunications service. Celerant workstation
software, a Windows based front-end application that includes both back-office
and POS functionality, will automatically fail over to redundant application
servers without disrupting the workflow of the user.
An additional benefit of this flexibility is its intuitive ability to scale
to large transaction loads, easily.
