Celerant Technology Corp. Releases No-fee Gift Card
Staten Island, New York (July 30, 2005)-- A leading provider
of real-time retail management systems, Celerant Technology Corp, announces
that stored value cards (SVC)
are now integrated into all channels of their retail management system, Command.
With Command’s SVC option, retailers have access to a full range of real-time
reports to proficiently manage and summarize the transactions that occur in
their stores, without having to pay any transaction or activation fees commonly
associated with SVC’s.
Customers have quickly taken to SVC's.
In 2004 there were $55 billion worth of gift cards sold, according to The National
Retail Federation, and there is no sign of the trend slowing down. The TowerGroup
reports in 2007, gifts cards will be an $85 billion business. Savvy retailers
are quickly realizing the benefits of an integrated SVC option.
“Stored Value Cards
have turned out to be a great choice,” says Tanner Babcock, Sportsman Ski Haus.
“We are able to obtain detailed information about our clients purchases and
our customers like the convenience and local seasonal images that make our cards
more personalized.”
Data obtained from stored value cards increases a retailer’s customer database and sales. This information can then be used for client mailings or for contacting customers about special promotions and new items. With Command’s stored value cards, retailers eliminate third party transaction fees, activation fees, and inflated fees for the cards themselves.
“Stored Value Cards
have become a new trend for the retail industry,” says Celerant CEO Ian Goldman.
“They give your retail operation insight into clients spending habits and help
establish customer loyalty programs. With SVC’s, we now have an intelligent
way to expand the customer base, increase incremental sales, and meet customer
expectations on the Internet and in stores.”
