Overall, when the system runs smoothly, it is easy. Easy to navigate and helps us keep track of our inventory more efficiently and creates a faster checkout process for our customers.
PROS
How easy it was to learn to navigate the back office and POS.
CONS
It freezes up and kicks users out at random, causing the user to have to clear the cache, and log back in. All work is lost when that happens. Which can be time consuming if it happens repeatedly.
I may leave a second review just so I can leave 10 stars. Dee was absolutely phenomenal. Knowledgeable, professional, punctual. Everything you could possibly want in an onboarding specialist Dee provided. I think she went way above what was expected and exceed every expectation I had.

Cumulus and Stratus are the best overall cloud-based POS/Inventory Management offerings out there. I promise you, we’ve used and tested MANY different POS and Inventory Management programs over our 30+ years in business, and Celerant has the best. Perfect, of course not – but unlike the others, Celerant as a company is amazingly responsive, especially when compared to other providers in the retail space. They feel your sense of urgency. You can always get in touch with an actual person. Finally, general upgrades, fixes, improvements, and new integrations are a regular thing. Celerant’s developers are engaged and diligent about incorporating customer feedback. You can trust your small/mid-sized business to these guys with confidence.
After reading some of the one-star reviews, I get it – changing POS systems sucks. The first few weeks and months are hell, and during the initial install year – everything is the “first time we’ve done this on the new system.” It often requires a rethinking of your processes to match the system you’re using. Remember, your existing processes were developed based on the tips, tricks, and workarounds you had from your previous system. We struggled in the beginning in part because we were trying to bend the system to our existing procedures and vice-versa. Over time as we spent time and effort to understand what the developers were thinking, we got to a much better, even great place. Now, three years in – our clerks love it, and our back office processes better match the capabilities of the system.
After years of worrying about making the move and upgrading our POS system, we finally decided to do it with Celerant Technology. So far, 2 months in, we have had a much smoother transition than we could have imagined. We not only upgraded our POS for 6 stores, but we added a new, 7th store at the same time. Dave was incredibly patient with our questions, and very thorough in his training. If he didn’t have the answer, he would go and find it. Though there were glitches along the way, overall the task that was ahead of us was handled wonderfully be Celerant and the team that we worked with.
PROS
For us, we really appreciate the ability to be live in multiple locations all at once — being able to see the sales and inventory movement all instantly is huge. We also like the fact that it can essentially be accessed from anywhere, on the appropriate machines, as long as you have an internet connection.
CONS
I think the thing we struggled with the most was having to build out reports that would fit our needs, but this is probably more on us as a company than the software itself.
REASONS FOR SWITCHING TO STRATUS ENTERPRISE
We are growing in our number of locations, and we wanted more ease of use when it comes to that growth.

Quinn was great to work with. He has been super helpful throughout the implementation process.
Pros: The Celerant team had great customer service.
Everyone was very knowledgeable and Helpful which made the process much easier.
Cons: I cannot think of anything that i would consider a con.
Overall: I am very pleased with the service and assistance i was provided during the on boarding process. Everyone i worked with was extremely helpful and made sure our needs were met! I certainly recommend them to everyone!

After moving our point of sale system from QuickBooks POS to Shopify, we finally decided to go to Celerant. Once we started are training, which was very hands on with one on one instruction from Dave Libby. Dave was great at making and keeping meeting appointments. He was very informative and helpful. He would check into questions that we had that he was not sure of the answers and got back to us usually the same day. Dave was a real pleasure to work with, to actually get someone on the phone who was interested in how we run our business instead of trying to make us run our business in a way to fit the software. We are have gone “Live” with our system today. They have already sent us contact information for support, email and phone numbers. This is so much better than what we were experiencing with Shopify.
My recent support experience with Celerant – while assisting our friends at NHS – was over and above what I had been accustomed to expecting. This in large part had to do with the 1:1 support that Anthony Parisi provided the Support Desk for a WP issue that had affected the customer over 24 hours. Anthony came to the rescue by opening his calendar to assist us troubleshoot and get the customer back online. I can’t thank Anthony enough for his dedication and flexibility to assist us with these high priority issues.
Dee and Celerant have been wonderful. Dee is always there to help us and willing to connect visually to show step by step processes. It is also nice to have one person be our contact so we feel like we are important and not just a case number. Having a wonderful experience.
Coming from another POS system with many false promises, It was amazing to have a company employed with such professional people who were capable of following through with every expectation we had especially while migrating from a competitor in our first year of business.
Quinn McKee was a great training coach, everything he explained had a straight forward and personable approach, which made it easy to follow. He makes it seems like he actually cares. I was amazed, and still am by his level of professionalism, attention to details, and above all, patience with our repetitious questions. Our sessions were also recorded so we could review their trainings at a later time. Its great since we could also use those training videos to train employees if we choose to!
Shruti Dixit was our trainer for the Website side, and she has consistently kept in touch with us and done her best to appease our every request thus far within the capabilities of their software. Her trainings were also recorded for further review as well. Once our website is live, I will probably update my website experience. I doubt I’ll change my star rating though, since other POS companies charge 10’s of thousands to start up with them and cant even get their POS working properly.
Overall, now using Cumulus, I feel like this POS is the best bang for the buck especially when you take into consideration all the services provided by them. Some things are a little clunky, but procedure trumps all and allows you to flow through the work. I’d like to see a faster turn around time on some of the more serious technical issues that are specific to our store, but I understand that testing and quality control is important to have a well operating machine such as this.
Pros: The customer support is great. I have Nekie as my account manager and she has been helping me throughout the entire process. I dealt with Sheena in customer support. Sheena has gotten me the results I was looking for with just one phone call. I like that Nekie is honest with me, if there is something that she does not know, she will tell me that she does not know. The great thing is she will get me the answers I am looking for in a timely manner.
Cons: I would like to see the monthly fee to be less, but the product is a great product.
Overall: Overall I am satisfied with the product. I like the fact that I can give my manager a call or email and she will actually get back to me.
These guys have been incredible! Not even sure where to start. If you are a small business looking to grow these guys have you covered with whatever you need. Quinn, Marc and Thomas have been incredible! I’ve never seen a company with such great employees that get back with you with any question in a moments notice. I feel like I’m family with these guys! Thank you so much Celerant team!
