Celerant Adds Contractor Pricing to Retail Software for Hardware Supply & Paint Dealers

Offer special pricing to contractors, and keep track of each contract or job through Celerant’s point of sale software

Staten Island, NY (July 27, 2021) – Celerant Technology, a leading provider of innovative retail solutions for the hardware and paint industries, today announced contract pricing built into the point of sale. This new module allows retailers to offer and manage contracts with special pricing. With Celerant’s industry-specific integrations, dealers can also create contracts with products from vendors, such as Emery Jensen, Orgill and True Value (coming soon); and offer rebates through Benjamin Moore– all within a single system.

Contract Pricing for Hardware & Paint Dealers

Creating contracts with special pricing at the point of sale
From Celerant’s point of sale, a salesclerk can easily create a contract for a customer. Special pricing can be added to a contractor’s customer record within the CRM, and to a contract, along with an expiration date indicating when products can no longer be purchased under that contract. Quotes can be used if the contractor requires custom or negotiated pricing for a specific job. At checkout, the contractor’s special pricing is automatically applied to the order; and products marked down are highlighted on the point of sale screen. The system will select special pricing with the greater discount, and allow the sales clerk to override it if needed. Once the transaction is complete, the clerk can print and/or email an itemized receipt, displaying the contract/quote number, products, special pricing, contractor information, additional notes, and more.

Defining special pricing in the back office
Within Celerant’s retail software back office, dealers can create special pricing for contractors on the customer level, such as club members, veteran-owned, and more. Special pricing can also be created for various types of contracts, such as corporate, government, non-profit and home improvement; specific departments, including lumber and paint; and brands. Special pricing can be based on percentage markdowns, dollar markdowns and other methods. With security settings, a retailer can require management approval before a clerk can add or override special pricing on a contract or customer record.

All contracts are accessible from the point of sale, making it easy for dealers to help contractors reference the exact products used at each job. Dealers can also run reports to ensure store shelves are stocked with the products contractors need.

Celerant continues to make enhancements to our retail software to support the industry. The addition of contracts with special pricing, enables stores to streamline the process for contractors, while increasing hardware and paint sales.
