NRF 2020 concluded with 40,000 people in attendance looking for the next big thing in retail. And with over 800 exhibitors and 400+ speakers, there was plenty of technology for everyone. In store retail technology was a major focal point at this year’s BIG Show, and for good reason.
With major advancements in online technology in recent years, brick-and-mortar merchants gravitated to technology to help them gain a competitive advantage in store. Exhibitors throughout the Javits Center showcased everything from robots that ensure products are stocked in the right locations; RFID solutions to combat loss prevention; intelligent shopping carts with self-checkout; audio messaging, LED displays; and facial recognition software.
