Celerant and eCheckpoint Automate Compliance to Protect FFL Businesses

Eric Barone, eCheckpoint: eCheckpoint is a database of laws all the way down to the city level for firearms, accessories, magazines, and ammo. What we do is check transactions in the eCommerce store just to determine if the products that the customer is trying to buy are illegal.

So the way that this works really simply is that when a customer is checking out, eCheckPoint’s gonna look at that order and determine right there, can that product be shipped there or not? And it’ll inform the customer that, unfortunately, that 60-round mag to California can’t be shipped. Please take it out of your cart.

Most dealers know that when they signed up for the FFL, they agreed to follow all laws in all states. So there’s a compliance risk there that’s real. Oftentimes, retailers may put the onus on the customer that’s buying that they need to understand the laws, but the fact is the laws are written differently.

Really just ensuring that our dealers are not shipping restricted products to the wrong locations.
